OT Association of Hawaii

Giving Back to the Community

Happy OT month to our members and thanks for being a part of our association! As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, OTAH was invited to give a Fall Risk Class to the seniors at Lanakila Multipurpose Center on Saturday April 13, 2024.

We had an education table with adaptive equipment, demonstrations and a simple fall screening with some 40+ seniors.

The results of the class was that our seniors were able to say what OT can offer and were educated on the skills we incorporate in terms of reducing fall risk.

Mahalo to all of our volunteers for helping at the event: Jana Tsuruda OTR, Kaimana Chow COTA, Michelle Reed OTR, Shelby McDonald OTR, Hui-I Chen OTR, Fran Nishioka OTR, Margie Barajas OTR, Kelsey Tasoe OTR, and student volunteer Michael Tong.

Due to wonderful response from our participants, we are looking to form a Fall Risk Community Education team for those interested in giving back. Please click here to sign up.
