Meet our Lei Kumu: Margie Barajas

Margaret “Margie” Barajas was born and raised in Hawaii where she participated in many May Day programs and learned to appreciate the special tradition of giving/receiving leis. Although she is a Home Health Occupational Therapist by day, at night she indulges in her passion for lei making, a skill she finds both fun and therapeutic. She now enjoys teaching this art form to others, finding joy in the stories shared while bonding together to create beautiful lei’s with what nature has to offer.
