Thank you to Project Dana for collaborating on bringing OTAH’s Fall Prevention Awareness Program to Hilo on March 7, 2026.
We were able to screen 50 well elderly for fall risk.
Thank you to Claire Nagatori, Cynthia Tatsuno, Kelli Kuwahara, June Kondo, Fiona Winegartner, and Jason Tse for helping with the event to help clients learn their fall risk and self-advocacy skills for wellness through their lifetime.
The feedback from our event was positive with momentum to share this with other areas that are in need of this information to make simple but effective changes to keep them on their feet.
We are always looking for more members to get involved with teaching our community on what OTPs can offer for health and wellness utilizing evidence-based information. Please email Joni Kamiya for ways to join in.
We will also be holding classes for OT practitioners on developing these skills in the near future to further our practice to enhance aging in place.
