OT Association of Hawaii

It’s a Wrap for 2025

The board of OTAH would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays! We’ve had an eventful year and plan to continue it next year. Thank you to our dedicated members and associates for your ongoing support and participation.

As a profession, we need to be prepared for the changes ahead and your eyes and ears on the ground play an important role in that. We’d like to start to address what you’re seeing as a group to further advocate for OT as a profession, but also for the clients and communities we serve. This will be an ongoing issue for us as we move into the future of health care.

We as OT practitioners have to join forces regardless of your area of practice to create that louder voice in our communities. By undertaking this effort, we advocate for our future clients and fill a need in care that we see missed too many times.

How do we become stronger as a group? We need to join our professional association, get involved in advocacy efforts, and continually educate ourselves.

The board of OTAH recognizes this and will strive to keep us working at the top of our license.

We do need your kokua as members in participating also. Maybe consider serving on a committee or even running for a position. If no one steps up, we paddle a cone with no vision for the future.

Currently we are in need of a treasurer and committee members. Thank you to Fran Macalintal for stepping into the new role as Education committee chair. We look forward to new opportunities in the upcoming months!

As our commitment to our members, we have some great CE opportunities next month.
